If you are just starting out, I believe you will encounter a dilemma with the cheap marketing tactic used by some well-known hosting companies. 

The reality of "unlimited" storage / websites

This pricing table is captured from one of the top web hosting providers, which I will not reveal. The offer is just enticing, right? However, never fall for it, as only disappointment awaits. And I don't blame them! If you have a server with 500 TB of storage and currently hosting 10,000 websites, you may assume that the storage or disk space capacity is pretty much unlimited. Because not everyone ends up reaching the theoretical limit of 50GB per website (500TB/10000 websites), but to say it offers unlimited storage is inaccurate. You will be slowly capped once you have reached a certain threshold sets by the server administrator. if your site exceeds these limits, then a web host can temporarily shut down your site, and they can also ask you to upgrade to a higher plan. Another reason this is done generally is to protect from abuse and misuse of service.

The reality of "unlimited" bandwidth

Another example that misleads customers is unlimited bandwidth. Large bandwidth certainly requires more server resources. A certain limit has been placed upon it when your site exceeds the bandwidth limit configured. Similarly, if your site exceeds these limits, a web host can temporarily shut down your site during a spike in requests and ask you to upgrade to a higher plan.
Rather than educate their customers about it, they deem the hassle is not worth it to educate the customers on the real capacity of the operating server running tens of thousands of websites concurrently.

Ultimately, my question will be – is it wise for your online business or eCom store to rely on this cheap business marketing, hence its uncertainty? If you ever sell something on your website, please avoid using shared hosting. However, if you are doing a blog or maybe a personal website, then by all means, you can use shared hosting.

Selecting the Right Hosting Company

After understanding the type of hosting service offered, the first step is to choose the right hosting company and there are three key points that I would like to emphasize:

2. Good reviews
3. Hosting performance.

The best way to choose a hosting company is to look at their website and read reviews from other users. See if there are any negative comments or complaints about the service that would affect your business in any way. Prior to subscribing to any plan, I will go to either Reddit or TrustPilot to read and observe customer satisfaction. 

Additionally, I will also pay attention to their offering on whether there is any money-back guarantee as well as a refund policy. Play safe. Never subscribe to a hosting package for more than one year at a time. 

Technical Support ☎️

Web hosting technical support is a key component of any web hosting company. If your server goes down, you need the help of a technical support team that can be on hand to help you with whatever issue you may have.

Do I have to purchase 10Web hosting to implement the Reverse Engineer Method 1.0 ?

Not necessarily. Although the Reverse Engineer method requires you to use the AI Builder by 10Web, You can take advantage of the free trial that 10Web offers for 7 days. In our experience, the AI recreation process should not take more than 3 days. Then, you can easily transfer your design to your website hosted on a different hosting provider by referring to the ‘Transfer your Design’ topic found under Module 3. If you wish to use AI Builder for more than 7 days, you can definitely subscribe to their monthly plan.

The purpose of the reconstruction step is to fix any inaccuracies the AI builder might leave when recreating sections. I’ve noticed that, for other sales pages, the AI builder tends to have a hard time recreating the page. Hence, we use the reconstruction step. We add a new section below the one AI worked on, and then move the widgets into this new section. This way, it offers us a point of reference to match the intended design that we wanted even if the AI builder misses something.

I get it, it can be tricky, especially for beginners. That’s why I recommend trying out the grid layout or CSSGrid. Most of the time, design needs are box-shaped or grid-like. It makes things much easier! So, save the flexbox container for those occasional layouts that you just can’t create with a boxy design. 

When the AI builder recreates a page, it often places containers inside other containers – a process we call “nesting.” This can make finding which container holds your background image quite a challenge. But don’t worry, that’s exactly why we do the reconstruction; to create a much simpler layout. You can use the navigator to check how many containers have been created. This will make finding your background image a whole lot easier.

You can then pick up design elements such as color schemes or typography styles from the base template to get your own design started.

This is just a suggestion. It’s totally fine to use any tool you like for pre-planning your website. However, this planning process really helps you visualize your site, especially when merging different websites together. Trust me, it can get quite messy without some planning!

The AI builder is still relatively new and has its limitations. But here are few things that we can do:

  • Try again. Recreate the page once again.
  • Make certain you are recreating a page design which follows all the key criteria.
  • Try recreating a shorter landing page next time.
  • If it still doesn’t work. Don’t sweat it and reach out to the support team. They can give clarification to you.
